VACANCY ON MARSHALL COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

(NINTH DISTRICT)

A vacancy exists on the Marshall County Board of Education in the 9th District. Anyone desiring to apply for the unexpired term of Heidi McElhaney must reside in the 9th District of Marshall County and should be a registered voter in Marshall County. Applicants should send notice of their intention to apply for the position along with a copy of their high school diploma or equivalent along with contact information to the County Mayor’s Office at 1108 Courthouse Annex, Lewisburg, Tennessee 37091 by May 19th, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. The applicant may also appear at the May 26th, 2026 County Commission meeting and ask the County Clerk to include his or her name with those desiring the appointment. Applicants must have a seated Commissioner nominate them the night of the Commission meeting.
This appointment will be made by the Marshall County Commission, meeting in regular session on May 26th, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Marshall County Courthouse Annex Building, Room 2204, located at 101 West Commerce, Lewisburg, Tennessee. The appointment will be to fill the 9th District Board of Education position until the term expires on August 31, 2026.

MARSHALL COUNTY PLACES THE FOLLOWING RESTRICTIONS
ON THE PERIOD OF PUBLIC COMMENT

1) COMMENTS MAY ONLY BE MADE ON ITEMS ON THAT MEETING’S AGENDA
2) THE PERIOD OF PUBLIC COMMENT WILL BE 30 MINUTES AT A MAXIMUM
3) THE NUMBER OF SPEAKERS ALLOWED TO SPEAK DURING THE PUBLIC COMMENT SECTION IS 10
4) THE LENGTH OF TIME A SPEAKER MAY SPEAK IS THREE (3) MINUTES
5) THE SPEAKER’S COMMENTS SHALL BE ADDRESSED TO THE CHAIRMAN
6) ANYONE WISHING TO SPEAK AT A MEETING MUST SUBMIT THEIR NAME AND DESIRE TO DO SO TO THE COUNTY MAYOR’S OFFICE BY 3:00 PM, 3 (three) BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE THE MEETING

(UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE ITEM SIX DOES NOT APPLY TO COMMITTEE MEETINGS. THOSE WANTING TO SPEAK AT A COMMITTEE MEETING MUST SIGN UP BEFORE THE START OF THE MEETING AND INFORM THE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN.
